Residing is a very expensive way to make this welcoming. I’d only do that if the siding needed replacing. You might want to paint your window trim brown/black or your shutters white so your windows look more unified. You could also lay a more welcoming pathway to the deck. Perhaps flagstone, laid in a much more meandering pattern, and a bit wider. You could add a “welcome” sign, possibly something carved into a large piece of stone, at the start of your walkway. Something on a post might also work. You could also plant some colourful groundcover or shrubs. A hammock or horshoe area or something like that might also help it feel more inviting.
