take down wainscoting?

I am doing a quick upgrade to my bathroom or master bathroom actually I took down the wallpaper and now I need to have the walls and ceiling texture. Should we take down the wainscoting and do the full wall or should we leave the wainscoting up? Don’t have the money for a full upgrade or remodel

My vote is to keep the wainscoting...it does depend on your final look though...

ah thanks, just took down all the hideous wall paper and there is nothing but bare sheetrock underneath. The ceiling is chipping a bit too so I figured I would have it all done in one shot. The rest of our house is without wainscoting but our other bathroom. Maybe paint?

We did the same...it seems that they papered directly over the sheetrock and it pulled away the paper in a lot of spots...

To be honest, the wainscoting is very charming as it is...but then I am biased because I'm not so lucky to have such great details in my house...so it's more a case of coveting... :)

To my eye, unpainted is a Victorian look...and your cabinets don't say Victorian to me. Painted, however, wouldn't go with your counter...which I assume is staying?
