An invasive species across much of the country. And unlikely to bloom before May/June anywhere outside of SoCal!!

Not a problem in a Med climate..where the garden hose stops? SO do invasive's...

Plant shown is Paulownia tomentosa 'Lilacina', which seems to be able to come up from seed in spots not being watered in the dry summer climate of the Seattle area - as long as rocks of some size are present. With dry stone walls for instance being a somewhat typical location for these trees to appear on their own here, outside of watered beds.

I've also seen one growing in the slit between the foundation of a commercial building and its paved parking area. This must be even more of a nuisance than when these fast- and large-growing trees insert themselves into walls.
