Don't worry yet. While I would prefer white doors and trim with that flooring, you can make your own decision. If you repeat the color of the pine around the house, things will seem more planned. Find a few baskets in natural materials similar to the pine color, a picture frame in that tone, an area rug which includes some of that color. As for wall color, I would look at the colors of your furniture, your floors and any rugs and fabrics in your home to decide what color will work on the walls. With gray flooring and pine trim you are combining a cool tone with a warm tone. Look at Houzz photos of "gray flooring living rooms" to see what colors others have used on their walls.

I would paint the doors and baseboards black or white to better match the grey floors. The color of the natural pine, while really beautiful, is very warm and traditional while the floors are a cool, modern grey color. I have no idea what you mean by the colors won’t go on it for the doors. I would either do white or black for the trim and doors because those floors do not work with that color trim.

Are the floors finished? Silly question if you were keeping doors, etc same why not choose a floor that coordinated.? Usually furniture, textiles, etc determine wall color

Yes the floor has finished. I want to keep the doors as they are about £400 each. I can’t afford to change the doors at this moment.

One possibility is to use an area rug and pull colors from it or other elements in your room for the wall color. Something like this can pull the warm tones of the floor.

I think your door looks fine with your floors but not your trim. I would paint the trim white and leave the door as is.

There are some really nice versions of grey tones that would suit the doors and trim nicely. Black would look sharp but may seem too contemporary for given trim/ moldings/doors...plus it shows dust and fingerprints really easy and that can be frustrating if more-than-periodic maintenance time isn't on your side.

Just live with it and use rugs. It was an unfortunate floor choice, but if it is laminate the wood doors are worth more in the long run. When the gray trend has gone its way, you will be glad you have the warm wood doors and then you can replace the floors. You can paint the trim white if you want. Wood doors with white trim works.

Yes. I agree with you. It was wrong choice for the floor colour. We never thought about the doors. I think we will have to live with it and change it after some time. Once it’s decorated with warm colour rugs or cushions hopefully it will look better. Thanks

I think if you did some feature walls in seagrass wallpaper in the colours similar to pics it would tie it all together and look great

You can paint fire doors. Google it. You can even paint over the seals a bit, but you can definitely paint the front.

Even though the doors and trim are the same, I think it would look a lot better if the trim were white and the doors left as is.

Search wood doors with white trim here and you'll see lots of examples.

I've not heard of 'Not' being able to paint fire doors. Maybe some jurisdictions have a by-law that has such restrictions, so I won't make an emphatic statement otherwise. Fire doors are more about being sealed so as not to allow fumes from garages or oxygen (which contributes to fire acceleration). Plus, airlock entry/fire doors are made of metal - at least where I live. If the door in the photo is a metal door made to look like wood, then the manufacturer does a nice job making them look like real wood.

Thanks everyone. I have checked about painting the fire doors. They are not made to be painted over for safety reasons. We might have to leave the door as it is and try to decorate the rooms with warm coloured rugs and accessories. Any ideas about the colours??

The flooring is beautiful! You should really paint the trim and the doors soft white or a light gray. You mentioned your furniture and decor has a lot of gray and black. Personally, I would not paint the doors black. It would make the home look darker, unless that's what your going for.
