Why would you place sconces next to lamps?

BeverlyFLADeziner, I know absolutely nothing about decorating thus the idea of sconces and a mirror reflecting the window, and why I am begging for ideas on Houzz. :) Thanks for the floor plan. Before painting I had it set up like this but the couch was by the window and the chair on the wall. The furniture is big and bulky but the space is so large and open I thought it would be a good fit. It is very comfortable and I absolutely love it but it's hard to know how to arrange it. I adore the 6 prints over the mantel!

Why not try a nice piece of artwork behind your sofa instead of the mirror?

When you arrange your furniture, don't place items against the walls. Give everything a bit of breathing space since the area is so large.

I thought having the one chair by the windows made more sense and allows to you add a round accent table and floor lamp for reading. That will end up taking up much more room than just a chair by itself.

I love the idea of a beautiful piece of art above your sofa! The mirror is too small and is hard to see. Here are some inspirational living room photos:

Your art should be about 2/3 the size of the sofa, so you'll need a much bigger item than you have there now. It should also be hung at eye level. Your mirror is too high.

I agree that sofa pillows will make a big difference as well and break up the expanse of the brown sofa.

Are you going to try Beverly's floor plan? All that heavy furniture up against the walls isn't the best arrangement.

I moved the clock and changed the furniture around placing the TV on the mirror wall but the glare on the TV from the windows was a lot . Sooooo... we flipped the TV to the window wall. I am still searching for art to go behind the furniture along with colorful throw pillows. Not there yet but how are I doing so far?
