I am in Prosper and am having the exact same issue with a newly planted 5 gal loquat. It is looking sickly too. I’m guessing that some of this is due to the cold weather. They hate cold and evenings at 34-39F does not help. The reality is that we are zone stretching a bit with this plant. They grow great in Houston, but really not so much here. Even if I am able to save it, I’m doubtful that any fruit will appear because it ripens in Nov and Dec.. 32 degrees and the fruit is toast. But hey the plant cost $30 so I’m willing to roll the dice. I’m planning to fertilize with some nitrogen and see how it goes.
