Quartz countertop suggestion?

Going to get new countertops. Leaning towards quartz. Will be replacing floors and painting. Looking for color suggestions. I am lost!

change hardware to a cool metal tone and go either darker gray/near black or a whitish of some sort.

I think a white or marble looking Corian would be very nice. I am not a big fan of quartz products- I think they are overpriced and underperforming. If you want a natural stone, perhaps a black, leathered granite would be good. I think Carrara marble would be too cool, but Calcatta could be quite nice and classic.

I vote a light almost cream white quartz with a subtle pattern. Maybe one of these names.... White Zeus extreme, Cesarstone Misty Carrera, hanstone tranquility, Cambria, Silestone...

It might look pretty like the below photos...

the light ones shown are really nice. Re floor: is it to be hardwood? you might get more "impact" from this choice. A nice hardwood in a stain or two darker than cabs will really anchor the look so don't get too hung up about the counter choice.

I have similar color cabinets. I painted my kitchen a light aqua color and am considering white/grey quartzes. I like LG Rocooco, Everest, Silestone Aria and Q Quartz Sparkling White. But still looking too! Trying to decide between a marble look, a sparkly particulate look, and swirly white and grey.

I used LG White Pearl with my warm wood cabinets - just one of many ways to go:

Rita... quartz underperforming? How so? I have white quartz and put it through its paces and no scratches, stains, scorch marks, or chips.

Anyway OP are you painting cabinets or just walls? Do you have any inspiration pics?

Not painting the cabinets but we will be painting the walls. Not sure about the flooring yet. One of my friends has this in her kitchen, which I like but I am not sure of.

I like her kitchen but I am afraid it might look dated. And I am liking the pictures with the lighter countertops. And I am thinking quartz instead of granite.

Mable looking quartz is very popular. What kind of look are you going for overall? Calm and serene or a more rustic look? Cambria Torquay is very popular but I've read a lot of problems with Cambria with resin pooling and them not standing behind their product, so it's kind of shyed me away from that brand. I'm looking at white quartz myself and am staying with the big companies that use the Brenton technology (Caesarstone, Hanstone, etc). There is cheap Chinese quartz out there but they've had a lot of problems with staining.

I would order some samples and conduct your own stain tests. I had to eliminate one of my top contenders because mustard did not come out despite using Soft Scrub.

I don't think your friend's kitchen looked dated. The tumbled stone backsplash may not be the most popular right now, but when I was looking at backsplash tile last weekend, all the tile stores told me they still sell it.

I think it might be easier to decide on a floor first and work your way up (literally) to the countertops.

How long to you intend to stay in this house? Quartz is very expensive and you have rather dated looking cabinets. I would not spend that kind of money on new countertops unless I was also replacing the cabinets.
