How does the butcher block wood hold up in the small sink over time?

    A fully finished butcher block with a finish that builds a protective film around it like Waterlox or a oil based Urethane covering all sides of the block including the bottom is a very durable counter top. Clean up with soap and water. This does not mean that you will want to cut directly on the butcher block. If you do deep cuts could defeat the the surface and let water penetrate into the wood top. Treat a butcher block like you wood any other type of top and use cutting boards to do your cutting on and the butcher block top will last for many years without refinishing.
