Convection microwave vs 2nd oven in island

Remodeling a kitchen and can't seem to fit double wall ovens. Debating whether to have range and convection microwave or range, 2nd oven in wall, and microwave drawer in island. Do convection microwaves work as well as an oven in tge oven mode? Can you bake, broil, and roast??

I've read more negative comments on houzz regarding microwave drawers- hard to clean, not easiest to remove dishes from, seem to be problematic and if you need to replace may have problem finding another one to fit space. I did have a Panasonic interverted microwave that did have a convection bake, broil and roast. It has since been discontinued and last time I looked I couldn't find one to replace it with the the auto sense convection bake that I loved on that unit. I used the covnection bake mode and it worked out perfect but the broil made a mess of the oven and it is an interior difficult to remove the mess from. I know there are quite a lot of threads on here that houzzers are doing away with their 2nd oven and microwave and going to a speed-oven instead and seem to be happy with that. I think the only drawback is the size of the cavity of it in relationship to an oven.

Why can you fit one wall oven and not two since most wall oven cabinets can take two ovens.

Are two full size ovens necessary for your cooking needs?

I am getting a microwave drawer because I want it off the counter and ergonomically it works for me as otherwise it would be too low or too high.

did you take out an old 24" oven? You have to enlarge that space for the newer, larger ones. don't put back another small wall oven.

Thanks everyone. We have standard 30" range that has two ovens under it. One small/one bigger. Makes have to get on floor to get roast out of oven. I do need 2 ovens. Wnt to increase range to 36" but cat seem to fit double wall oven unless range goes under window, which sounds bad. So was considering convection microwave if oven part actually works like an oven. Otherwise, maybe 2nd oven in island and an oven under range and microwave in wall. Don't love idea though.

Did you end up putting a convention microwave in your island? I am thinking the same thing. Putting in a 30 inch oven instead of a 36 and convention microwave in island.

Bosch makes a nice 30" 240V oven/microwave combo ~$1700. We're planning to use that on our remodel as both a 2nd oven and a microwave.

I'm one of those people Jan describes!!! Had an Advantium speedcooker microwave in 2003, and absolutely HAD to have in our 2019 renovation. We've had the appliances 2 weeks and I've yet to cook in the real oven part of our induction/convection range. Everything we've eaten has come from the Advantium and Instant Pot.

I"m confused. They say you can install a GE Advantium convection microwave in the wall, but not in an island.. Why? They are both enclosed areas. Thanks in advance for your help

You can install a GE Advantium under the counter. You need the 110v version 30". In either of these SKU below, and the only

difference between the two is the HANDLE.

    ZSC 1201 OR ZSC 1202

You CAN NOT install a 220 v under the counter. That has a safety requirement of 36 3/4 from floor installation, is more expensive, is unnecessary. For every hundred of these my "walking encyclopedia of GE " sells, he may sell one of the latter. The only difference is a bit more power, and less cycling in halogen feature. He also will fervently state "NO enjoyment of all the features of a great oven is lost with the most popular/purchased version" , sku's listed above.

Why are the safety requirements 36" from floor? Do these convection ovens get hot to the touch when in oven mode?
