Thanks Vapor. I’ve had all kinds of problems with Houzz today. :-( I’ll try to fix it in the morning.

When the buds opened this spring I went back to HMF and realized Aloha didn’t match. Maybe America Beauty? Or maybe it isn’t a climber? I did notice a slight fragrance today on the most open bloom. It’s definitely not fruity. Maybe anise? I’m enjoying the color difference, lighter and darker, on the tops and bottoms of the petals as it ages. I’ll take another picture of it in the morning.

I really appreciate your help. :-) It is growing so fast in the 4 gallon pot i feel like I really need to figure out a more permanent home for it.

Hilarious! I'm going to look this up in the Rogue Valley catalog. It shouldn't be too hard to find there lavender roses. It has the look of one of The Veranda roses or lavender crush, Plum Perfect or even violets Pride but I'm not too familiar with the lavender roses.

Thank you Vaporvac! :-) I’ve been running in circles a bit the last few days. Among other things I found termites swarming in the laundry room on Friday... that’s been fun. -_- In fairness everything is fine. Could be worse. And I just pretty much keep my To Do list like an encyclopedia written by squirrels and then life happens. My own fault.

Apparently my laptop and phone aren’t communicating. I have pictures on the phone that the laptop doesn’t see. So I’m loading everything from my phone now. Grr again.

Hi Shannon! Definitely agree with VV about it not being Aloha. Violet's Pride seems to have a darker center. While it hasn't much fragrance here, I don't think it's anise at all, thank goodness!

So maybe that rules out two?

Thank you Lavenderlace. :-) Yep, I didn't really care for the fragrance I finally did find and I'm not sure if it was anise. I'm learning I tend to prefer the fruity, tea, old rose fragrances, but don't mind most of them. This particular one is just frustrating me more than anything. lol

Thanks! I actually thought that one of those pictures reminded me of Heirloom until you mentioned the fragrance. My first Heirlooms smelled like bug spray and are now very nice!

I think that it's too dark but are the edges frilly and the stems thick and thornless like Memorial Day? Some of my first ones were dark at first and had that white stripe. Maybe a relative?

It does kind of remind me of Memorial Day except all those that I've seen smelled fantastic and very strong. I didn't realize purples photographed like Reds... Never true.

There really isn’t any white on the blooms. I think the one picture just looks that way because of how the sunlight is hitting it.

This Heirloom smells fantastic! It’s been recommended to me before, but I always thought it was a little too pink for my taste (from pictures). Then I saw and smelled this one in Lowes...

It’s a bit more purple than this picture shows.

The others in the 4 gallon pots pictured are our newest babies from Roses Unlimited. They arrived in gallon pots, but the UPS truck was in an accident... long story. Totally NOT Roses Unlimited’s fault. I up potted them from the 1 gallons to 4 as soon as they got here and they seem to be just fine.

I’ll run get you a picture of the Mystery’s stems. I’m on a gardening water break. ;-) brb

They do have this tiny bit of trying-to-be-thorns right under each flower. Otherwise nada.

OK, I'm officially stumped!

So I am assuming you got this from Rogue Valley Roses? Correct? Have you sent them pics to see what they think it could be? It looks to me an awful lot like the ht SHI-UN, but hard to say. I'd have to check mine to see if it's thornless, and I don't remember what the scent is like. It also looks a little like PLUM PERFECT. I don't have that one, but it looks like some of the pics of PP on HMF. But if it came from RVR, they don't list either of these roses.
