Cambria Countertop-Would a matte gray(Carrick matte) look like quartz?

I love quartz and am excited to get Cambria. Our kitchen has a rustic look and concrete would look good IMO, however we want quartz.

My concern is that the Cambria's color Carrick Matte will not look like stone, but a soild surface. Is this a valid concern?

This picture is what our kitchen will look like, however this kitchen has concrete countertops.

I am excited to order this color and like its beautiful. I just wonder if it will look cheaper than what it is...?

I don't know that much about it I just hope to be reassured honestly.

I guess I was planning on getting a countertop with more pizzazz, but it's not what will suit my kitchen best. LOL

    I have Carrick in my kitchen, and I absolutely love it. It has more depth and movement than I was expecting. Mine is polished, but the matte version would still have the same depth and movement, which would make it look like stone and not at all like plastic. I also agree with others about the chiselled edge being rough on clothes, though it is beautiful. Good luck.

      Also, what do you all think of a Moraine Edge (CHISELED) for this kitchen?

      I think that edge would look great in your kitchen- just be sure it does not annoy you working up against it.

      If you really think the Cambria product looks like a solid surface product, why would you pay the premium? Surely the Cambria is better looking, otherwise ...

      Rita, Great point! If anyone has experience with that edge let me know. Is the concern mostly that its not smooth rubbing against. Also, we have children so let me know if there would be concerns around that.

      I guess I'm concerned that others might mistake it for a plastic countertop and wondering if that is likely. I realize I don't need to be concerned with what others think, however I guess I can't help it. ;)

      Honestly, no quartz looks like stone to me. Why was concrete a no go? I agree that the rough edge would look nice in your kitchen but I wouldn't do it because you would constantly be rubbing up against it (not comfortable). I definitely wouldn't do it if you have young kids. You should check but I believe those types of edges are typically a bit sharp on the corners.

      My concern with the edge would be having it catch on my clothes- especially when wearing workout clothes and sweaters. I've had my son get stitches on his forehead for tripping and falling against applied moulding on a bed frame, so anything is possible in my mind. How long is a kitchen counter a danger to a child- IDK- maybe between 4 and 5 years of age.

      BTW, your kitchen is absolutely lovely- charm for days.

      I have it in two bathrooms. Probably too much movement to really look like concrete But it is close. I also looked at some other brands with less movement and they did look cheap.

      I live in a log home and thought about getting the Moraine edge but the man who came to take measurements said it's more difficult to keep clean. I thought that was a good point for a kitchen edge so decided against it. Also asked about the matte finish and he said that is also difficult to keep clean, I think he said it looks like smudges on the counters all the time. (I chose Cambria Summerhill)
