Alas, no sewing for me! The flooring project continues...

I also have a handbell concert tomorrow afternoon, so that will take up several hours.

Sunday is our 35th wedding anniversary! We are going to dinner at the fancy restaurant in one of the hotels I work for.

Congratulations Donna, i am almost twice as long as you at 64 in June. Yikes!

We have the project manager from the construction company coming this afternoon to discuss what is left to do downstairs. Soon!!!

Sewing... the pattern arrived, the fabric awaits, so if I am not too bummed out from the meeting I will start that today, tomorrow the latest.

Have to neaten sewing room. It's really a mess as I have tossed a lot of 'discarded choices' on the floor. I can probably come up with a good reason for being so disorganized if I try but I don't care while I'm hunting for the right piece. Only when it comes to cleaning up. grin

We are picking up our granddaughter in a little while and will have her for the weekend. She is 16months old and will be in a wedding tomorrow afternoon (maybe!!) for her aunt. (DIL's sister) We will take her to the wedding and bring her back after photos and MAYBE her walking down the aisle!! I have a quilt on the machine that I started FMQ yesterday and will work on that while she sleeps. Will be busy until Sunday afternoon!

I sewed together some 'Bricks and Stepping Stones' blocks that I have had for a while into a small quilt. I will add a border and probably keep it to give as an oversized boy baby quilt. It is just the right size for a floor quilt for a baby. I also had some bonus triangles left over from Pineapple Blossom blocks that I sewed into pinwheels. I will probably use them in the backing for the Pineapple Blossom quilt. I am currently cutting up some small scraps into half square triangle pairs for my Purple Jamestown Landing. The cutting is tedious as I am using ends of leftover 2.5 inch strips. But I do feel like I have accomplished something this weekend. I spent every evening this past week planting in my raised garden beds. I have all my tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers and onions planted. It sure is quite on here this weekend. I imagine people are getting outside in the sunshine.

I just pulled a few weeds from the veggie garden patch. Too early to plant here in the " north" but I can clean it up a bit getting ready.

and I went through a couple of totes in the garage. The carpenter used that area for his saw work and sawdust is everywhere, even in closed boxes.

fabric cut for the quilt but back is a bit sore from all my labours, so it is heat pad time.

I've been busy this weekend sewing D9P. Well, I did it again. Not sure how I do this, but I made enough D9P for 2 quilts. (3rd time. LOL) But it's really a blessing as I wanted to make 6 quilts for Africa, so.. ta da, I'm there. I need to put borders on 5 of them, and I still have to cut the D9P apart & assemble, so I still have a lot of work to do. I'm going to put it all away for now and wait until the weather is too hot & humid to be outside. I have until October to complete them.

Thanks, everyone! After DH got home from church we spent the afternoon laying flooring! Our dinner was lovely and they gave us a huge piece of chocolate mousse cake with "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate for dessert.

Theresa, isn't it amazing that sawdust can get into everything? I remember after having our bathroom remodeled, even though the workers were really, really good at cleaning up and keeping it contained, there was still dust all over the house.

Dust everywhere is the common complaint I have heard from others having their basements redone after that flood of last Aug. Try as you might, you cannot get rid of it. Once all is finished, I plan to call in a cleaning service and let them have at it. I don't reach, stretch or bend like I used to.

Theresa, I remember the dust when we added a room to our house when my son was a baby. We had a parquet floor in the living room and it was horrible to clean up every day when the workers left. The dust was everywhere but that room was the worst!
