You can use a large vertical piece. Do you use any color in the adjoining room (family room, maybe)?

Hi! We recently moved and haven't really done much to the adjoining rooms.

Ooh, goody, a blank slate! Do you have a plan for a color for throw pillows in the adjoining room? A favorite color or a color you hate?

I could be wrong, but, it looks like you have room to put a piece of furniture there, like maybe a low bookcase or sideboard. And if it were my kitchen, I’d get a bigger tv and maybe hang it over said-bookcase or sideboard. ;)

BTW: Can you take a picture of your skylight, please? I’m putting one in my kitchen and I can never have too many examples. Thanks!

The adjoining hallway is neutral. I actually have a large succulent wall on one side and a neutral brown bench, throw, and large round gold mirror on the other wall. I guess I'm wondering because the palate in the kitchen is so neutral, do I keep it neutral or go with a pop of color? What comes to mind is a large Monet or a scene from a French bistro, a field of colorful flowers...

I would remove that TV in the corner, that absolutely does not belong there. And I would put a piece of furniture on that wall (nothing in dark wood, you already have enough of that) and I would focus more on "decorating" it with actual functional kitchen type pieces than with wall art. Save the wall art for the dining room (which I assume you have and this is just a breakfast nook).

A small console table at the bottom of an art piece will anchor it. Something like this?:

It would be fantastic with a wallpaper mural/photomural.

Instead of a console, consider a buffet with storage for table linens, etc. I have one that is only 11 inches deep but is so nice for storage of linens, candles, etc. It will also anchor whatever artwork you choose.

If you have not decided what the rest of the house will look like, DO NOTHING. Wait.
If a blank wall bothers you, go get a map of the area, frame it cheap and put it up: it is a neutral item that will allow you to wait until you decide a truly cohesive design.

Had a similar wall that I bought a large canvas for. I like the idea of large framed prints also.

I decided to do a wall mural with one of my own photographs (the space in my kitchen is 8' x 10'). There are no end to the possibilities......

I'm not sure if you're a fan of red, but I think a painting/print of a field of poppies or a Tuscan scene would look great with your color scheme.
