For a easy update would change the paint and hardware.

Accessible beige, brushed nickel hardware and remove all items above cabinets and you're done. This is a great space and will look even better once those simple things are done.

I agree with painting the walls but would forego adding the cabinet hardware since the future owner may want to paint the cabinetry and put their own stamp on it. I would also have the bar stools painted off white so there is a little less natural wood.

Nothing on top of your cupboards, a cute curtain on the window and some new stools/chairs for your island. If you like your island seating....then I would either paint your chairs or make cushions for the seats that match the curtain you might want to put on the window. Seems your kitchen needs some "bright" color somewhere.

Yes, doodads off the top walls and cabinets and more neutral paint--no messages on the walls. Bring the sofas closer together if you're showing it furnished with possibly a rug to create a more defined, conversational area. It's a wonderful space.

If yes, I would recommend getting new stools bar. You can find it for a really good price anywhere, and it would make a big difference. Your kitchen looks like to be one only piece, because everything is on the same tone of colors.

Put the coffee table more centered, and get a nice rug to bring the living room together, everything is too spaced out. And definitely new pillows (back to the part where the house it too monochrome).

Another vote to remove the tchotchkes on top of the cabinets. I disagree with the above suggestion to put a curtain on the window. Plain is best, and let in as much light as possible.

In this case I think you do need to paint as everything is too orange and if I was the buyer would be thinking that I need to offer a lower price to paint all those walls. Need to neutralize it. And I like color! Painting it can also be a selling feature. Especially to men as they don't want a project list as soon as they move in!

When you paint, don't put back up those pictures over the sofa. And if possible, get rid of the sconces at the same time. Too high and odd looking there. And the living rm curtain valance thing is not to everyone's taste so no reason to put that back up when you paint. Good luck in selling your house.

Your bar stools are heavy looking and make the space look crowded. I wouldn't paint them or get new just to sell. For your real estate photos and during showings, I'd just put them all in the garage or basement. Or you could see how the space looks like with just two stools.

Does your house need to be painted? The paint looks in good condition in the photo. Your peachy paint color is a little dated but not horrible. I would look at other homes in your price range and see how they look compared to your home. You may not need to spend money to paint.

If you do need to paint, accessible beige is a great color to consider.

I think paint is pretty necessary....when a home is this nice ....people have to feel they can live in it as is...and they do tend to be put off with this strong a palette ...it may effect their interest and really will put them in a discount mood if they can’t get over the first impression..... if it is negative............as to color choices I might seek professional colorist’s advice .....to be sure that the chosen tone will trigger the right effect with all the wood elements........ as to leaving the furniture I would rely on the realtors advice...they have a better idea about the buyers in your area and price range..

We agree with painting and removing the items above the cabinets. Everything else should be good for resale.

As others have said, paint a lighter color and remove the stuff on top of the cabinets.

Do not add curtains. Keep the window uncovered and clean.

Replace the bar stools with smaller stools that don't have backs that stick up that far. The current stools may be comfortable but their size crowds the counter.

The white wood door seems out of place. Consider painting it a light gray to match the lightest gray in the countertop material.

Assesible beige it is! Next question... Can I use the same color in my master bedroom or do I need to make it different than the living room? It sits off the living room.

Your home is clean, tasteful and very nice. I think it provides a nice canvas for the new owners to make their own print on it. I wouldn’t change it or put any money into it at this time.

Answer to your question ... you can use accessible beige throughout ... it’s a great basic color ... the new owners can always add new color

It looks ready to view except for the bar stools and the decor on the upper cabinets. Remove those and don't bother to replace the stools unless you find some for your new home that would look better here. The living room just needs the seating to be drawn away from the walls and into a cozy conversational grouping. Anchoring with an area rug could help, but only if you have one already that looks good with the seating or find one to work in the new home and here. When the art comes down for painting, don't put it back up. When you get to your new home, hang art centered 5' above the floor or with bottom frame 5" above furniture.

The cabinet hardware is fine. Yes, changing cabinet hardware is quick way to change the look of a kitchen, as the cabinet hardware vendor who posted above has noted. But in this case it doesn't need changing. There is not a different hardware design that would appreciably improve the look of the kitchen.

Kitchen is not tragic at all and you have great space to work with ! Remove the small things from top of cabinets and maybe just have one or two plants to soften the space a bit.
The bar stools are heavy and emphasize the brown tones. Would eliminate or get three or 4 new stools that have some color and no backs. I would put out a nice big bowl with lemons or apples in it to warm it up for showings
Painting is also a great idea as is the idea of pushing the LR furniture much closer together and getting an area rug the ground it.

One more thought ? Consider a backsplash of some kind? Or even something just above the cooktop to customize that area a bit? ...

I would go with lighter cabinets (soft, light gray) and countertops with some movement, like Caesarstone Moorland Fog Quartz. The color of your backslash is not very clear, but I would keep it simple and light. Whatever you decide to do, you have wonderful space to work with

I would paint the walls and ceiling in a lighter color without the peach tones shown in your photo. White, cream, or something similar to the counter material color.
