For a shadier location choose a blue one. Blue Angel is probably the fastest growing giant.

There are many other good ones as well.

Liberty is very large. I also have very large clumps of Paul's Glory and Guacamole in my yard--both of these grow like weeds in my yard. Both are described as medium large but they grow very large very quickly. I also like Sagae.

I'd never thought about it before, but most of the giants like some sun. How about Humpback Whale? Mine is in a mostly shady spot and has grown pretty fast for a giant.

blue angel is EXTREMELY variable as to good blue color.. the one above is one fo the bewst i have ever seen .. but most others never look that blue ...

i would beg to differ with miles.. that any he lists are GIANTs ... they might get large ... but not quite giant ...

Squash Casserole will grow very well in your part of the country. Mine is over 6 feet in diameter.

I’m screenshotting this thread. My plan is to be in the parking lot at 8am, sale starts at 830am. I’ve checked the websites of the listed vendors and it looks like that quite a few of the hostas recommended should be available, just gotta get there first!
