Well you certainly didn't exaggerate when you said your hostas are doing well this year. And you've just shown us a few of them! Well done! It's extra nice that you can see Hosta Island from your front door!

Beautiful healthy, delight to the eyes. I've been curious about First Blush, and this is a far better picture of it than any vendor has.

Wonderful, Donna! What a pity you can not plant a few under the tree on the left side near your door...Purple Haze is also not as purple as last year, but as you say, they really look good and the slugs and snails seem to wait for rain...

That view looks so good. How boring it must have been before you created hosta island.

Every time I'm tempted to get Amalia, I always think it won't look as good as yours so I'd only be disappointed, lol.

sandyslopes, Amalia is a great hosta, especially Donna's and no diva. Got one last year and despite stupid me putting a pot with another hosta on her head she looks so beautiful now...maybe you should get one :-)

Haha! How did you know? I am watching how other people's Amalias grow to see if I should attempt one. Yours is a beauty, too.

Your Amalia is jaw-dropping! We are definitely having some great spring hosta weather (except for a 32 degree night in April) in our part of the world this year.

Don't give Amalia a second thought. She has good genes (Dancing Queen sport). Go for it. Jiust give it some sun. I have a photo of mine on the Hosta Library site.

Hosta 'Delona's Smile' was named after Delona Shockey and was the gift plant at the 2012 AHS Convention. Delona was vital in helping bring the convention to Nashville. Sadly Delona lost her battle with cancer before the 2012 convention. It is a Bob Solberg hosta (Green Hill Farm). Perhaps he still has some in stock.

Drop-dead gorgeous hostas, DD! Regarding HRH Amalia, (so regal looking she deserves my HRH reference) I think I may have missed the boat back in 2016 while at Hosta Choice Gardens. Glenn had received some stock from one of his American suppliers but they looked so rough upon arrival he said he would grow them on some and sell them the following year (2017). I wasn't able to return last year. This year it appears it is not available (checked online availability) and I won't know what happened to them until my planned visit in a week or so.

The funny thing about being enabled.... we all want YOURS! Lol

Steve, yes Amalia is gorgeous at any stage of growth!! It's just a very special hosta IMHO.
