I like the idea of an apartment sized sofa and having the TV mounted at the proper height on the wall behind the door where the trash bags are in your pics. You might want to experiment with having a console there or not because that area is limited. if you do go with a console, follow jck910's advice about sizing. It needs to be much longer than your 55 inch TV, at least another 1/3rd wider.

^^This is a nice sized sofa and coffee table with just a peak of the chair (?) to the right. Gives good seating and is close enough for TV viewing in that size LR IMO.

^Here is another possible layout with 4 chairs and an ottoman just substitute the TV for the FP in the inspiration pic.

OP has a huge TV....55 inches.

The one with my furniture is my existing apartment. Unfortunately we are not replacing the carpet in the house because we are renting. I hate the carpet though
