That's awesome. Reminds me of a tomato plant. It you cut the top off, it would branch more vigorous. Definitely a keeper :-)

I cut the tops off of all my other ones. Its the only way I can get them to branch out but this one is doing it all on its own. Cant wait to see how this baby develops..

I planted 30 seeds and had two come out this way. Different genetics. They have so many branches it's crazy!

The branches look even cooler now (that's from last year) but I'm fighting a spider mite situation and also fertilizer burn to leaves. So they are lookin a little sad for pics.

How do you know if you have spider mites? Are they just crawling around the plant?

Also, what do you feed your adeniums?

You'll see tiny little spots of discoloration all over the leaves from where they are being bit, and very fine webbing under leaves with tiny little red mites (mine are red. I think there are different colors sometimes?)

I feed mine Dyna Gro (which is awesome). But I experimented with Fox Farms Bloom recently, and I accidently added too much. Im actually doing an experiment this summer. I took several seedlings to the side and am using a different fertilizer per seedling. I took pics beforehand. I'm going to see if I notice a difference.

Paulie, here are my two. I took the photos yesterday. They are recovering from the mites. But check out the branching.

These were "born" that way. I got lucky. Something about their past genetics. I sewed 30 seeds and these two were the only ones with the branching. I did cut the largest middle branch last year so that it wouldn't overtake the rest and they'd grow at the same pace.

All if the other babies had one or two branches. I did prune them in the spring. Now they are growing more branching because of the prune. I'll get a pic. As cool as they are now, they still can't beat the naturally branched ones I grew. Those are my favorites!

These are 1 year old. I think pruning them all the way to caudex and lots of water made them get fat bases.

My 1 year old is similar, multibranching with fat caudex. These are special ones. Ideal for bonsai.

I have a number of seedlings that by their first year were like this - and yet others from the same pods that didn't branch. Some crosses or types did it a lot more than others. If those lower new branches get shaded out by taller growth above however, don't be surprised if they stop growing. So trim off the central tall top if you want to guarantee more even growth of all of your new branches. Or you can leave it and take your chances - they may continue to grow out but often those that get the least light will go dormant later.

With more than two hundred seedlings grown since last August, I would agree that genetics is the determinating factor whether your seedling will branch early on.. All of two types of Ko plants did this within a few weeks of germination, while other kinds have concentrated on single branch growth.. If time allows, rather than cutting down

any updated pics on this beauty? I planted 11 seeds and all sprouted and look amazing. I have one that has branches on each leaf spot (I don't know what to call it) must be at least 12 branches (3 months old) then I have several that look like they will end up with as many branches.
