Different but connected rooms, different floor tiles?

Is it going to look too choppy if I put the encaustic pattern tile in the laundry room, the slate in the mud room and the powder room as marble? These rooms are all connected. The reason I don’t want to use pattern tile in the laundry and mud room (for the consistency) is because it is going to get so dirty in there during winters. I also love the pattern tile and feel it may be overpowering in both rooms. The mud room leads to the kitchen which will have wood floor, (see pic), and white cabinets with dark grey honed granite.
The mud room is 67 sq ft, laundry room is 57 sq ft and powder room is 34 sq ft. So yes they are small areas. TIA! :)

8 years agowhy don't you try to incorporate them? for instance, maybe to a border of the slate and the encaustic tile in the middle (sort of like a large rug, something akin to this but imagine the herringbone tile your encaustic and the border pieces your slate
as for the bathroom,,do what ever you like in there,,,they are stand alone areas.and since the mudroom leads to kitchen w/the wood floor, maybe do a border of the slate in there around the base of the cabinets, or you could inset the wood in with slate.
