Florida gardeners are forever whining -- about rain.

In the dry season, it's "Puleeeeeze! Give us some raaaaiiiin!!!" and in the rainy season it's "Oh Gawwwd! Is this rain ever going to stop??"

I laugh about this every year, how we quickly go from "Yay! Rain!" to "Make it stop!" and from that to "Where did the rain go?"

It's either "My plants are dying of thirst," or "My plants are DROOOOWWWWNNNNING!"\

We are the grouchiest group of gardeners anywhere. You just can't please us. Maybe all this rain is God's punishment for all our whining this winter.

I love the rain but I can't lie it would be nice if it were more evenly spread out thoughout the year. Then again many native animals and plants in Florida depend on alternating dry and wet seasons so they would be in big trouble

I try really hard to be mindful of that when so am tempted to grouse about it. If so had to chose one over the other, I would take rain any day. I think I was born with sort natural of fear of drought.

roseguy - LOL! Yes, but actually, it has been hotter the last few years. It seems the sun is more intense this year for some reason. Maybe it's just me. The older I get, the hotter summers seem to be.

Personally, I LOVE the dry season! I HATE the summer humidity (and hurricanes). I grew up in Florida, but moved away for a long time, partly because of the weather. FL thunderstorms are cool though.

Love the rain as long as we don't get it all at once. This May has been my lowest May electri (A/C ) bill I've ever had in many years Lol...due mostly to the rain. It's kept the the extreme heat away for the most part though the humidity has been bad at least the 90's have been elusive till today!!

Hey now, Roseguy, I resemble that remark :-)!

DG - I enjoy the afternoon/evening thunderstorms we get, but days of continuous rain is more than I can handle.

Incessant rain and constant dark gloomy days without a sunshine break puts me in a serious funk. It did not rain at all today. It was sunny all day. I was happy, my dogs were happy and I am pretty sure my plants were happy, too!
