Bluestone vs granite patio?

I’m in Massachusetts and am having a patio made. I’d picked thermal bluestone but the contractor showed me blue mist granite. He says the price is the same and it’s more resistant.

What are the pros and cons of thermal bluestone vs blue mist granite?

Also, does the patio have to match the house color? We are about to paint the exterior taupe-y (BM shale). Will that clash with either choice?

Granite is a harder material than bluestone.

Hi! We chose granite. It’s been a few years now and we are very happy with the result. Our house is also a bit on the modern side and I think that the granite looks right with our house. Both are good choices, hard to go wrong. Good luck!

Does your Blue Mist granite get hot in the summer? My childhood memories include hopping on my tiptoes when crossing over bluestone. Hoping Blue Mist granite isn't as hot.
