What purpose will the curtains serve? Privacy? Light Control? Decorative only?

looking for semi sheer ones so that the the place is bright but has privacy as well

Before curtains, that rug appears too small for under the table. Pulled out, the chairs will be at least half off the rug.

you have some awesome elements to begin with. So maybe push your magenta curtains to the sides to frame your window, add White sheers in the middle 4 privacy and definitely get a larger rug. I think I got mine on rugsusa.com, an 8x10 for $130. they have a cool tool to photograph their rug under your table.

here's how I use a similar color scheme -- lime green curtains and Persian Style magenta rug with purple and black details. lime green curtains as accent on the sides. mine are usually pushed all the way open and they look rather yellow here but I think you can get the idea. My teal placemats are on the little table under the mirror.

Your rug is too small and I agree no room for a bigger one then drapes can have a pattern like the rug you have now. Get some decent sized art hung at the right height and I can’t imagine getting in and out of that bench can be easy. The light needs to be hung lower and centered on the table

I'd do linen sheers hung via rings on a rod, with natural woven shades underneath.
