I think maybe 9". That' a lot of plaid. I don't think I have any plaids in my stash. Do you think they are homespuns?

I agree with 9” but all we can do is guess.

I bet I don’t have 3 plaids in all of my stash. And almost as few polka dots.

This may be a bit simplistic from the POV of someone who doesn't quilt, but is there any reason you can't just measure one of the completed squares?

Given the fact that it's hanging on a curtain rod and doesn't look very big, I'd guess 9", too. Maybe even 6".

My mom made lots of quilts that look very similar to it. :)

I’m guessing 9” as well. I agree on using some lighter colors and TOT to lighten it up a bit.

Yes, I only have a picture and didn't pick up on what all of you did.......I agree, it must be a 9 inch finished block which will help to use up the smaller pieces of fabric, too. It does look like some of the fabric is homespun (maybe it's all plaid flannel?) and I have a bit so will incorporate it into the plaid fabric I have from shirts. I think my first order of business will be to haul out the container of plaids, de-bone more shirts if need be and then cut pieces that will eventually fit into a 9 1/2" square. They mostly look to be 3 1/2 square and 3 1/2 x 6 1/2.......some 3 1/2 x 4 1/2.

Fran, the blocks are three rows of two rectangles each, alternating vertical & horizontal like a rail fence. The rectangles appear to be random in size, so it would be great for using up strips.

I wondered if the quilt could have been made out of shirts. I've been saving my DHs for a quilt some day, but he wears his clothes forever, so I haven't gotten very far. However, I'm in no hurry to make it anyway, just being frugal for now by saving what he discards.

Found the pattern! It's called 'Hopscotch' by The Quilt Patch Pattern Company.

Doesn't say what size the block is in the description, but I asked on their FB page, and will let you know if/when they respond.

I think you have it, Larri! Thank you! I've found a few in different colors to get an idea.....one is even a baby quilt. I'm going with the 6 pieces in a block and making the block 9 1/2" unfinished as that is what I see in looking at this pattern and also in the quilt I posted at the top. I have finally gotten the plaids out and will be playing with them over the week-end. I'll have to add it to my June goals. lol thanks again, Larri.

Sharon, I agree it is a bit busy, but adding more neutral would fix that.

I’m seeing the block now looking at for the second time. You could probably use jelly roll strips and end up with a six inch block.

Larri, The most recent thing I've found is Quilt Patch Groupies on Facebook and read there that the Quilt Patch Patterns can now be bought through the Sugar Pine Company which is in Canada. But for this one, I don't think I'll need the pattern. It looks to be pretty straight forward so we'll see where this takes me. My quilt sizes usually vary from the pattern and that's mostly because I get bored with it but I aim between the baby and lap size measurements. Thank you for all your digging. :-)
