They are in bloom and white--that's how I spotted them growing in a sea of silver-edge pachysandra. I'm going to leave them there rather than risk losing them thru transplanting.

I would have guessed bought in person. I did a lot of mail order in the late 70s thru the mid-80s but then perennials became widely available locally--more than they are now as so many small nurseries like Newbury and Blanchette have closed. I'm surprised at myself to forget something like this. I saw Arrowhead Alpines online when searching yesterday but I'm almost sure that's not it.

I believe Arrowhead Nurseries was in Weston or Wayland on Route 20. The property was then sold and run as a Mahoney's for many years. I used to stop there when traveling on to Russell's. It has now been sold for a housing development that local citizens are protesting.

Yes! You are exactly right. I can't believe I forgot this. They had very special plants. It was a hike for me but with both Russell's and Arrowhead so near each other, it was a must-visit every spring at least once. And it's on the way to the Garden in the Woods, another favorite place. I never went there as a Mahoney's as there is a closer one to me. Sorry to hear about the housing development. I hope the locals win but that doesn't seem to happen much.

Prairie Moon had huge sales on Geranium maulatum in 2017 and 2016, saw I bought a few...they are really looking good this year, and are doing well in a very bad spot.

The mother plant is beaten up from the deluge yesterday and I didn't get out there fast enough earlier as I couldn't find my camera. So sorry, no photo this year. The usual color of Geranium maculatum is lavender and they grow along our New England roadsides, tho not in profusion where I live. The are lovely in the garden. The white is rare, at least when I was nursery-hunting for so many years.
