Have I killed them already!?

Are all of their roots covered? and did you water them well?! your photo makes it look like they're in dry soil.

If the roots were planted in shallow mulch rather than a more study soil then wind may have tipped them over?

The soil is fairly sturdy. And there wasn't any wind. I'm unsure. I feel like I need to start over.

This is a long shot but I have had birds pulling up my new transplants trying to unearth any worms beneath them. If the plants are still alive they should make it ok with care, perhaps plant them a tad deeper this time. 2-3 years down the road you'll be fighting them off ;-) Happy Harvest!

A few things come to my attention. If these plants we’re separated in a pot you may have done a lot of root damage til you pulled them apart. Still strawberries are quite forgiving but I always dip roots into an Agrigel solution when planting and plants respond better without wilting.

Planting depth is important. Soil level should be in middle of the crown; no deeper. If plants aren’t upright you could firm soil around plants a bit more.

Also, I would pinch off blossoms when planting and even this first year. The plant will then send runners sooner which produce daughter plants and next year’s crop will be better.
