I don't think that this hosta pot was been exposed to colder temperatures than many of my other pots. To me all the leaves so far are unattractive! I am interested to see if the next new leaf is going to look normal.

Looks like pretty typical unfurling difficulty due to temperatures.

I hope so arcy_gw! I am wondering if the leaves that are to follow will be healthy looking.

A couple of people on the forum recently mentioned that a particular shrub they had did not bloom this year. The article also mentions loss of flowers due to late frosts.

I decided to persevere with this strange hosta. I thought surely it would improve in time. (I was in denial Ken.) Well, here it is August now. It is the Sum and Substance on the left. I am having my doubts as to whether it is worth keeping. Is it possible it could surprise me next year and emerge from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan?

What would you do?

check the roots for rot. It may not be getting enough water to the leaves.
