I've mentioned before that I moved from Michigan to St Paul, MN for a job, and my husband and I have been living downtown in a high rise apartment. The realestate market here is crazy, so houses are gone before you have a chance to make an offer. So, I wondered if I would ever get to garden again. But, through a twist of fate, I found a house that hadn't been listed yet, and they gave us first dibs!! The best part is that it has an acre or more of land that backs up to a farm field, and there is a huge nature preserve very close by. The first time I visited, there were 10 adolescent fox chasing each other around the yard. Apparently they keep the rabbit population in check quite nicely. So, I'll only have deer and ground hogs to worry about in my garden. Fortunately, I still have a box of seed from my Michigan garden, so I will be wintersowing a record-breaking number of containers next winter. We can't close until into August, but that will be a perfect time to start prepping beds and eradicating some weeds. I will start to post progress photos once we move in, assuming the sale goes through. Wish us luck!!
