Little natural light is not so important in a bedroom. You can add bedside lamps, a brighter ceiling fixture, and a floor lamp in a corner next to an upholstered chair. White walls will also help brighten the room.

I think a light grey color on the walls would look nice with the bed you described. I agree with the 2 bedside tables with lamps. to add light. The bedding would be nice in white and maybe add color with accent pillows and a throw?

I love the bed. Can you tell me who the manufacturer is?

We just bought the house with plans to stay indefinitely. The lighter color wall is 12’. The darker color wall (across from the windows)is 15’, but there is a door to the hall there, so there’s closer to 11.5’ of wall space on that side.

Get your furniture in place before considering mirrors over nightstands you don't even have yet. Color of the mirror frames will be less important than size proportions.

Optimal location for most restful and secure sleep is to place the bed on the wall opposite the entry door. I'm a little concerned with the height of the bedside table in the pic. It should arrive at mattress top height, not above it. Then a lamp should bring the total height to 58-64" above the floor. Are you planning to install hardwoods, paint trim, etc.? What will be the overall final look you want?

Thanks for the info on bedside tables and lamp measurements. Our tables are the same height as our mattress. We are in transition this week, but could post a picture of the furniture in the space next week. I knew my lamps were too small, but had no idea of the guidelines. Very helpful!!

To answer decoenthusiaste, at this point we are not planning to change our the carpet or trim. I love hardwood and am coming from an entire hardwood house to a predominately carpet house, but won’t make that change just yet....

It’s hard to find inspiration rooms with wood trim (especially in this style and color), but I feel I have to commit to changing the entire house (trim, windows, doors) if I start. Maybe that’s incorrect, but that’s how I paralyzed myself in the decision making

Find your bedding first, then other decisions like color for paint, rugs, curtains, etc., will fall into place more easily.

I use this to prove you can do what you want. Here the crown is white, the trim is gray and the doors are stained. I don't like it, but it proves you don't have to do it all to match. Find the look you like and go with it. Paint should work with fabrics and textiles, so it is true that the bed and bedding will be the focus and will set the tone for everything else, including paint.
