I have a very large problem at the moment. 3 year old Gunite pool is cracking in all of the areas that were custom- beyond the basic rectangle. The built in spa, sun deck and stairs are riddled with cracks that we noticed after opening the pool last summer. We live in NJ. I am not looking for a diagnosis of the problem- I have an engineer looking into that. I am looking for any wisdom re: patching these areas with fiberglass. This is the current solution that the builder is proposing. Said it will cover the cracks (let's assume for the moment that cracks aren't making the pool unsound or that is is leaking). Said this method is used extensively on the West Coast when earthquakes disrupt the plaster finish. Any wisdom re: this product, its application and long term prospects would be greatly appreciated.
