Need Help - MCM Exterior Recommendations Wanted!
We purchased an old MCM home that previous owners made a lot of changes to. We're attempting to bring it back to it's roots as much as possible. I've attached a current photos of the exterior, along with the original drawings. We're purchasing casements to replace the double-hungs. We're planning on a dark grey exterior and new doors.
We're struggling to decide on exterior. Have looked into T1-11 (and would love to stay around that price range) but haven't been able to find it without woodgrain. We prefer smooth. We have been told board and batten will give it a cottage-like feel, which is definitely not what we are going for. The back of the house is a walk out basement, so we also need something that will look good spanning the two stories.

PRO8 years agoI love the dark gray natural cedar combo for MCM exteriors , you for sure need a MCM door and please no knotted curtains . I of course would not do board and batten either on this great house.I have a MCM house with a walkout we have almost all the original style windows in the main living space with some patio doors that replaced some small windows We built a wraparound deck all around the house .We have plain wood siding mixed with 1950’s stucco with the bits of glass in it.The landscaping is going to be fun there are some awesome ideas if you go to MCM landscaping.

Love the gray and cedar posted by Patricia above. I also think emphasizing the fascia with a contrasting color is particularly appropriate with your roof lines.
