Corn is a heavy feeder so it sounds like you off to a good start. N is the main demand. Hold off on the Sevin unless you have found budworms. They are relatively rare and tend to eat in the tassels as they begin to form. The only major pest is the corn earworm. Attack those as the silk begins to brown.

I would be inclined to thin out some of those multiples for better individual production. If done carefully you can even transplant them. Otherwise you are doing great. Plan another good high N feeding when they get to be about knee-high. And no Sevin. It isn't needed for the corn unless there is an actual problem and will only kill visiting beneficial insects.

Advance use of pesticides for "possible future problems" is never recommended. It seldom works, wastes product, and has unnecessary side-effects.

I noticed the multiples also. Corn seed is usually planted as single seeds, several inches to a foot apart. Trying to separate the plants now would likely slow them down; simply cut down the shortest sprout of any multiple sprouting clump, if desired.

would this be be an option. since there is a natural divider in the raised bed. i will thin everything on one side, and leave everything on the other. as a kind of experiment. or is that just dumb?

That corn needs to grow as individual plants and have adequate spacing to be productive has been well documented for many decades. But sure if you want to experiment that is your choice.

a woman at my local independant nursery, told me A) dont have much hope for your corn, use the sevin and 3) just leave the multiples.
