Something attacking my Prairie Princess .

The first blooms on my brand new Prairie Princess are showing signs of some disease or insect attack. The petals look brown & eaten. Anyone has any idea what it could be? I bought the plant at Walmart a few weeks ago & it has no other visible sign of disease. Both buds opened with the brown bits visible right away, as if it bloomed with a deformity. Could I have bought a diseased plant? Walmart offers a guarantee but I’m sure I tossed the receipt this past week ☹️
