I agree about Houzz. They are primarily selling product, so forums are not their primary business. Most forums are not doing well, not just this one. Everyone wants to facebook these days, I'm told. Mailing lists are not doing that well either. It's a shame, as there is so much wonderful information on these older sites. It takes interesting people and knowledge to attract new posters (and 1st page on Google). Many of the really knowledgeable people and the ones who love hosta and photography find/found Houzz unattractive for multiple reasons. I don't see it changing.

FWIW, I can still access the forum under an old gardenweb link in my Firefox bookmarks, AND, it doesn't open discussions in a new tab that way!

I have no problem with the format. I didn't "ask nicely" because, well, unlike everyone else, the usefulness of this hosta forum, for me, is NOT derived from photos of unidentified hostas.
