no support needed for bush beans

I've never supported them. I grow them fairly close together in rows and they support themselves.

I also plant them close together and they support themselves just fine. Some cultivars (like Roma) may send a runner up in the air at one point, so they will look like they want to climb, but just ignore it. It's just for show :)

No, I don't think they need support. I've planted bush beans before.

I plant my bush beans about 2 inches apart in rows about 5 inches apart. I do the same with peas.
