Help! staining over a too orange deck!

We sanded down to bare wood and chose the Wolman F & P redwood stain. I was hoping it would come out more Brown with a tint of red but it is bright orange! Do I have the second coat of their Cedar or Natural applied and will it tone down the orange?
The rails will be painted white tomorrow and the tops the same color as the deck!
