Dead space under window!

We are planning renovations (new siding, wider trim, etc...) to the exterior of our home. While I have ideas to update the exterior on the rest of the house, I have NO ideas for the blank space beneath the center window panel.

I was considering brick for that section, but I am afraid that would just accentuate the problem.

I can’t extend the windows, since my kitchen counters are beneath them.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

    I think anything you try to do short of extending the windows, which cannot be done, is going to end up looking like something that was stuck on under the window. Therefore I would just do some taller shrubs under the window. Like this:
