navy bathroom vanity?

I’m trying to decide if a dark blue vanity would look ok...thinking of Benjamin Moore midnight navy for vanity, white walls, white subway, white counters, cobalt blue accent tile (it’s the one on the right). There is no natural light in this bathroom.

Mohamed, that is so elegant! I love that!

I think I would need to see the rest of the elements together, and the space to make a final decision, BUT from what you have described it sounds like it will be a really awesome bathroom. I love blues and whites together, maybe some yellow decor accents like Mohamed has done as well. Although I do love rose gold with blue and white!

Hope your project has turns out amazing!

I like your ideas, but I prefer the penny round tile on the left. It has more variation and interest - especially if using with white subway and how large of an accent you're planning. Also, I would keep to a lighter tile in a room with no natural light.

The solid cobalt penny tile puts the emphasis on the grout and shape, rather than the tile.

I would then paint the vanity matched to the darkest shade from that penny tile.

Sounds great but where would the "accent tile" be located?

Sounds like you have plenty of white and reflective surfaces to pull such a saturated color into the mix. If the penny rounds are used sparingly, you should be in the clear! The pairing of white and navy is such a striking, timeless combination making it a wise design choice. After the project, if you feel the space is too dark, consider adding a light or some decorative mirrors to help brighten the space.

Best of luck with your project!

We used SW Naval on a bathroom vanity which is a dark navy blue. The countertop is Silestone Frosty Carrina (White), and the walls are SW Light French Gray (mixed at 50%). I like it. No natural light in there, but there are 2 light fixtures. We didn't use any accent tile, but I love penny rounds. I want to use them somewhere in the house, just haven't yet.

The accent tile is only in the shower -on the back of the niche. I think I’m going for it!
We used the other penny round in another bathroom.

Personally, I don't like accent stripes. They're dated in my opinion. If you love the penny rounds then consider using Mohamed's idea for an entire wall done with pennies or do the floor.

I would rather see you go with white vanity and cobalt penny round floors.

What you've described sounds beautiful! Would you consider running the accent along the edge of the shower? I am struggling to find an exact example of what I mean, but this was the closest I could find.

I find accent only in the niche to be a little abrupt. I love the cohesiveness of accent tile tracing along the shape of the shower.

In any case your combination of white and navy sounds gorgeous. I look forward to seeing the finished bathroom.

Use art for accents instead of a permanent stripe of tiles.

I personally don't think shower niches should be highlighted. I would do the shower floor with those gorgeous tiles!

if you like the cobalt penny tile, at least get a blue glaze w/some pizzazz to it.

some of them have the black edging.

these are Loft from tile bar in a polished and frosted glass

and for the floors you could do something like these.

Oh man! I wished I’d posted this earlier. We’re basically almost done with the tile work except for niche and just wanted to see what to paint the cabinet. Well maybe the next bath we do! I couldn’t find the non-glossy tile for the floor so I went without!

Love dark dark navy vanities, but I would never use those penny tile. I would select something more classic and less trendy. See below.

Please note that in @Beth H. picture, 2 post above that the grout in the subway tiles is fairly dark. I think it is too dark in this application, It competes with the lovely wall paper. So if you do something like this consider what grout you will be using with other elements in the room. Always do a mockup of your tiles on a board, with several grout options. It will save you a headache later down the road.

Navy is a notoriously hard color to match with other navy blues. A navy vanity is something you might tire of very quickly.

Hemina, Can I see your finished project? I am in the process of remodeling a bathroom with a Navy vanity. Are you still happy with it? What finish did you use with your fixtures?...nickel? brass? black?
