Does anyone have the rose 'Sweet Frances'?

I thought I'd try to post something, and since I ordered Sweet Frances today from ARE, one of the tough, heat tolerant Texas Pioneer roses that Mike Shoup recommended, this seemed like a good topic. I haven't checked past posts which I will do, but thought I would ask first. All these years I never bothered with the Pioneer roses because I was so enchanted with the old roses, and the tea roses seemed perfect for those areas where I wanted a large blooming bush. It's a lot hotter here now than 13 years ago, and I'm having to regroup. I'm certain I'm not the only one, and I know Jeri has mentioned that her cool paradise near the sea had changed somewhat drastically also. Like me she can't tolerate the heat well, but at least she had the sense not to perch herself and her roses on a darn hot inland hillside. Sigh, it was not always thus, but one must stay current and somehow cope.

Ingrid that rose sounds so beautiful and lovely colour. I am glad you got it. Can you imagine having roses bloom from Spring to Fall. I love that idea. Wow :)

Yeah, it is getting hotter here too and going to add more muggy too. Yuk ! Last few days were so bad. Cannot think of summer.

Ingrid - Sorry I don't grow it so no reports. But wow the photos on HMF are luscious so I am looking forward to seeing how it does in your garden -- and your photos! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you, Jin and Mary. I'm glad you like my choice. It's difficult to believe that this delicate-looking rose is so heat-tolerant but we shall see. They don't ship during the summer, which seems sensible, although the beginning of September, when the rose arrives, is probably going to be even hotter than now. I'll keep it potted up and keep it in the shade until cooler weather arrives.

Looks beautiful, Ingrid. HMF comments from Sammy in OK were great. I think it is hotter than hell there.

I am researching Sweet Frances, bought her on a whim. Now I need to know where to place her. Zone 6a, I am guessing she needs full sun? Does anyone grow here and call tell me heroverall growth pattern? Thanks,

In a few days my rose will be here and I'm wondering too about Sweet Frances if she will do well with part shade ?

I wish so too, Ingrid brought much beauty to the forum. She was the first person I noticed wrote about Hoag House Cream .
