Tesselating Stars. The pattern I used didn't use HSTs but that middle strip was two strips sewn on a diagonal. Hard to explain but it was pretty easy. I like your colours. Well done, Lois.

Thanks, Theresa. I think the pattern I saw and loved was made with two strips sewn on the diagonal too. It would be much nicer like that, but I didn't want to think that much to figure it out. And then there would be none of the dreaded HSTs either.

I think it's great, Lois! Don't tell them the original pattern didn't call for HSTs and they will never know! :) That is the great thing about quilting - you can make it your own. I like the colors, as well.

That’s the photo I saw, Sharon. It’s much prettier in the larger size. I got the backing yesterday from fabric.com. It’s adorable. I sandwiched the quilt today and made the binding. We’re going up north fishing on Tuesday, so I’ll have to wait until we get home to finish it.

I would like to see the zig-zag of the positive color/fabric extended into the negative block in all four places. I'm not sure if I'd like it, but would like to see what it looks like. Guess I'll have to get out the crayons. lol

Theresa. What Lois made is not a regular Tesselating Stars pattern. If you follow the positive fabric in what Lois made, it connects to the block next to it on all four sides. I was wondering how it would look if the color of the main star was extended to the next block which might give the Sparkler look to it. I envision all the Sparklers in bright oranges, yellows, reds, blues...anything that says Sparkler. Just an idea I had....... Thanks for sharing Lois.....you got my brain cells working. lol

You will have to make a drawing and share it. I can't wrap my head around it.

LOLOLOL....no, took it from the internet. LOL I think the layout of the strips are the same as the T Star, it's just that where the fabric is placed is different. Even this one doesn't really show what I mean as far as the color goes. I'm thinking an entire Sparkler being the same color/fabric........including the 'arms' that extend into the adjoining block. But, this one is close to what I was thinking.

Sure is! On the QC site, the block was done with one main colour but four neutrals that " spilled" over to the next block. That was an interesting arrangement. So many layouts!!!
