Wondering... what is common practice nurseries uses on this...say if Americana/Nigra or Myrobalan was used, would they be clones or seedlings?

I've had bought trees grown on these stock with sucker grown up beside, both, tree and wild sucker died down to the ground, makes me wonder if polluted seedling was used...don't get a answer from the nursery.
