The top wrinkles may well be normal. What you don't want to see are wrinkles around the base of the leabes near the soil. East facing is good in the Southern hemisphere. If it seems squishy, it could use some water. I water lithops very lightly about once a week in South Africa. Make sure that the soil drains well and that it gets the morning sun so move the cardboard boxes out of the way. It is probably a young plant. In spring it will grow a new set of leaves, dont water it at that time, it will absorb the water from the old leaves. Sometimes it will grow 2 sets of leaves and then instead of one in the pot, there will be two. Lithops don't really get bigger than that, they just multiply. Make sure that the sun doesn't shine for too long on the pot and overheat the roots. It's a good idea to pack plastic pots tightly together and place something like thick cardboard around the outermost pots to keep the roots cool.
