Hi there, Occasionally posts may be caught in our filtering system that checks for spam, profanity, etc. Once it is reviewed, it will appear if it was a false positive.

If a thread disappears and the OP did not remove it, it was likely flagged by another user and sent to our team to review. Once reviewed, it is either returned or removed permanently.

That is most likely what you are experiencing.

This, and my post asking about why threads vanish, posted here onUsingHouzz, what was it that triggered the filter delaying their appearance?

Thinking of a former workplace where we sometimes used inter-office email to trade recipes...and learned we had to refer to particular chicken recipes very carefully, as the chicken part starting with B and ending with T was flagged as inappropriate. Yeah, we were using company email for personal reasons, but we did bring those recipes to lunch meetings and events lol.

Anyway, where are the Houzz rules and guidelines for starting and commenting on threads, so we can all be on the up-and-up? I'm flummoxed as to why this thread took so long to appear.

I am interested in this as well. I initiated a thread in this forum 3 hours ago that shows up in my activity as a 'started post' yet has failed to show up here. Nothing spammy or any need for filtering due to language but just a question about an unusual glitch in a single forum that has been ongoing for a long time...........

So where the heck is it??

A couple of weeks ago I had a couple of posts that were in m activity but did not appear elsewhere for two or thee days. So it is not a new aberration. Or, has it reappeared?

I started three threads that never appeared, as of last Friday morning. And four that were pulled, I don't know why. I wasn't advertising, there was no profanity, I didn't even mention chicken parts lol.

Sometimes posts get flagged for being miscategorized, like questions about paint colors on the landscape design forum. But I do wonder about the length of time it takes for posts to reappear. Often, since there is no notification to the original poster, they post again and then when their first post reappears there are two posts which leads to confusion.
