The stack of snafoos in our build continues to rise. For some reason the builder ordered all our exterior doors with clear glass. Most of them face west and with temperatures climbing in the 100s the heat gain is atrocious. Especially in our bedroom we have a very bad greenhouse effect. We contacted the company that installed the doors and they told us that they would charge us $2500 to replace the inserts. I am not in love with the doors as we have had trouble frome the beginning with leaking and air infiltration, so I am wondering if I should save that money and invest it in completely new doors that are more efficient or go ahead and replace the inserts. What doors would you suggest that are quality and energy efficient without breaking the bank?
