I am interested to get your insights into the type of basement ceiling building technique shown in the photos below. The house was built in the early 60s in southern Switzerland. I am considering insulating the basement ceiling, because cold air from the basement causes significant cooling of the floor in the living areas above. Moreover, the ceiling/floor provides very little noise insulation either. Any tips on how to solve these problems with this type of ceiling would be much appreciated.
