Any neighborhood association restrictions on colors? If not, look at sage green, chambray blue, bittersweet chocolate colors for shutters. If more traditional, try forest green or Charleston green, dark navy, or off white for shutters.

I like applepie's suggestion of sage green with your brick and roof colors. Also, a garage door with windows across the top would be nice.

Hi! Thank you for your suggestions! I like the idea of a baby shutter ...I had a house on Boston painted color Hale Navy that I’m considering. I’d rather a darker shutter than the sage green although that is a fab color of mine. What about trim color? Do you think I can go white or maybe off white with the beige siding? For garage door if changed would need to be white, right?

Mary Ellen, you could go with a darker shade of sage. Ideally, your garage door should be a color that blends with the brick. Right now it's a bit of a blank wall right up front grabbing too much focus.

Budget and building codes permitting, consider first changing what you can for actual wood with wood finish: first your front door; then shutters; and then your garage door. Wood with natural finish (rather than paint) can go a long way toward transforming the look of a home.

IF you are going to repaint what is painted ... and this is a matter of personal opinion, of course -- putting off whites with white can make the off whites seem dingy by comparison.

If you don't want true white (trim and fascia and shutters porches, etc.), you could choose a truly dark brown or, at the very least, if you choose an "off white" by any name, use the same off white color for all those painted parts of your home.

Exception: Black shutters could also work with a brick home with a brown roof and white elsewhere.

Just a note: If you're considering changing the landscaping, that usually has the potential to make a lot of difference toward curb appeal. One issue to consider is how much maintenance are you willing to do (or have done) and how much maintenance would any changes contemplated require.

Oh that’s a really pretty green but I’m more a black or blue fan. I totally agree on fixture update. What do you think of this? Hake navy shutters with wood door...picture brown brick instead of white !

Hale Navy is a great color. Just not sure about it with your brick, and especially the roof color. On the other hand, deco's Crisp Romaine is great, but I know you prefer blue or black. Black would be more do-able to me than blue. What about the cream/white from Beverly?

I'd be trying to avoid painting the brick at all costs! If your brick looks at all orange, black may bring out the Halloween in it. If you must change its color, stain it.
