How much sun are they getting? The stems are really reaching up and away (etiolated) as if reaching for the sun or to get away from hot rocks. Is each plant just one plant or were there many plants in each cell as seedlings? If many together, they are competing for space. You may need to cut off the dead flowers so the plant will throw more blooms.

Yes, they are all in the sun and I have chopped off the tops of the tops of plants that are looking pale and no leaves.

These are a mealie magnet. You may want to check for those. Or sometimes fertilizer will do the trick. I grow a lot of Portulaca and Purslane also. Yes, sometimes they don't look so well but they always bounce back even if I don't trim them back....I like your flower bed. Mine are all in pots so I have to water everyday in the summer.

Lol yes, that's what I meant. Check for white cotteny stuff around the plants. Roots too. These bugs suck the life out of plants. Some attract them more than others. I put systemic granules in my plants. Bayer 3 in 1

The presence of mealybugs is evident as clumps of white cottony substance at the crevice base and along the veins of leaves. Their byproduct attracts ants.

Aphids are usually present where mealy is.
