kitchen before and after

As you can see, we had the raised countertop lowered, upper cabinets and microwave removed, and a new countertop (honed Carrera marble) and backsplash installed along with a new vent hood, sink, and faucet. I love the open shelves. The kitchen feels 3 times larger! (FYI: we put a countertop microwave in our adjacent pantry.) We still have undercounter lighting to be installed.

Looks beautiful. You did an amazing job. I love that you kept the cabinets the same color. I see so many people who are so quick to paint over beautiful cabinets. A real inspiration for people who have a bit of darker kitchen and want to update and lighten it up.

Thanks, Jen. The original plan was to have the cabinets painted off white, but when the estimate came back ridiculously high, we decided to keep them as is. That turned out to be a blessing, because we like the contrast between the cabinets and the lighter countertop and tile.
