It's very hard to tell from your photos, but it could be hypoestes aristata, perhaps.

Inadvertently deleted comment when intending to edit my misspelling of Cheap Shoot's name. Hypoestes looks good to me.

Thanks for your answers. I have added another photo that I had, and yes, floral_uk it is a woody shrub. There is a letterbox in this photo, which is on the pole, that should give you a sense of scale. I went out and crushed a leaf and no smell really. But I have looked up Lamiaceae and it looks very much like wild basil?

If it's not fragrant I do not think it is wild basil. Also the flowers are different, I think.

Funnily enough I only thought to suggest hypoestes aristata because I got it identified on this forum not long ago [https://www.houzz.com/discussions/mauve-flower-id-dsvw-vd~5287487?n=10[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/mauve-flower-id-dsvw-vd~5287487?n=10)
Timing is right for flowering now, though the hypoestes aristata flowering is coming to an end around here.

But I don't know if that's what it is. Villain, a clear, close-up detail photo of flowers and leaves would be really helpful!

Thanks Cheap Shoots. Will take more photos tomorrow as it is dark outside now, and see if I can get a better photo of the flowers.

Just another photo, tried to get a close up of the flowers.

Thanks Villain, that's a useful photo. Yep I definitely think hypoestes aristata. If you do an image search the flowers vary in colour a bit. But most of the plants I've seen round here are a similar shade to yours.

And I'll mention again, I only knew because this forum identified it for me recently. Always impressed by the knowledge, helpfulness and collaboration here.

Thanks so much Cheap Shoots. I will tell my mother it has been identified. Funny that we put the same plant on this forum a few months apart.

I love this website, and I am impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness also. I am also in awe that there are people all over the world on here, willing to provide their clever advice and helpful opinions. Thanks to all.
