Agreed they have different functions, or you could have a n awning installed on the exterior windows.

I suggest you look at EZ Snap. It's an exterior shade that you can install on your own. Here are my thoughts and experience

Tint will slow the heat transfer into your room. The fact still remains that your window/glass is a physical object and thus this heat will remain past sundown.

EZ Snap or exterior shades: This will prevent the windows/glass from heating up as it will only receive about 10% of the sunlight. As a result the glass will not heat up and your a/c will do a lot less work. We have installed for many clients with great success. Your view will not be hampered

I have attached a picture of a skylight we did. This was done for a school's computer room. Before installing the children could not stay in the room and the computers were heating up severely. after installation the principal confirmed that the room was now better than other rooms on that wing.

Thanks everybody for ur advice, I am inclined toward heat resistant screens than tint but haven't made the final decision .

Solar screens are very effective but will have more of a change in appearance and view than window film for similar performance. There are some other factors to consider including the type of glass you have, orientation and exposure, etc. If a clean view is what you would like to have, window film will be a better choice.
