Both your rooms are pretty monochromatic. Wonder if you can paint the cart a different color to bring some life into the room.

In response to your question, I would move "factory cart" into LR. They are quite trendy & it would work in this room.
I would recommend re-arranging current side tables, which is a bit awkward now with large open space under clock.
Move table beside chair to other side of chair & move chair closer to sofa for conversation grouping. Then lower clock slightly, so it sits more in middle of wall.

The coffee table currently in LR will work better downstairs on rug - flow better colourwise.

thinking angle would look better, less rigid.....try it. For summer, some pop colour throw cushions would look good. A few shots of cushions on display in my retail home decor store which closed in Sept. Lots of options out there to add fun & colour
